Welcome to all new and returning players for the 2021 netball season. We are very excited to be celebrating our centenary - 100 years in the green, with splashes of yellow and white at various times through the ages. You will be hearing more from us as we finalise plans for a party and ...! We are also thrilled to have The Bealey come on board as a major sponsor this year and we will be hosting a number of events there, including weekly gatherings on Saturday late afternoons. This is a new and massive opportunity for Club members to socialise and we expect that all teams will do their bit to achieve this. Each player (18+) will also be provided with a loyalty card, so you can gain points to use to spend at another time - hint: end of season team function! Sponsoship is going partly to buy uniforms and partly to reduce subscriptions this year. Depending on our success, we will attract further funding next year.
In the meantime some information about the season ahead that is fast approaching after Easter.

Semi Finals and Finals for all Saturday grades are Aug 24 and 31, so you may not need to play on those dates.
Uniforms - Part of the centenary celebration is a brand new dress uniform for all players, and we expect to have these in early May. In the meantime we will have to be creative with uniforms for playing in the early rounds, and we have a number of options open to us. Your subscription includes a uniform hire fee, so no further costs are involved. Hoodies will be available for purchase. These have been branded to celebrate the 100 years and you can have your name added. A separate newsletter will follow with details.
Subscriptions, Sponsorship and Fundraising. We are pleased to say that subscriptions have been reduced. This is due to support from The Bealey, but we are also planning a couple of fundraisers to cover the shortfall in purchasing dresses. Rather than just increase subs, a fundraiser gives the Club an opportunity to come together, and bring in whanau and friends to share. A Subscription Notice will be sent separately. We are also open to any other sponsorship opportunities that are not hospitality based. If you, or someone you know would be interested in supporting our sport, get in touch.
Entertainment Books - We continue to raise funds by selling Entertainment Books in digital form. The Club receives $14 for every book sold. The current version covers Christchurch, Canterbury and Nelson, however you can order books for other regions, such as Dunedin. The books cost $70 and you get a 12 month subscription that begins from the day of purchase. This is the link to the Technical Netball payment (by credit card only) page is:

Umpiring requirements
Teams in Premier, Senior Reserve, Second Grade, U21 and U19 grade must provide two umpires each Saturday, usually after playing, but not always. You will be given penty of notice. Further information will be provided to teams about meeting the requirement to complete online test of umpiring knowledge. This is a requirement of registration by CNC. We are looking at getting an umpire in to give some coaching at the start of the season for your team.
Teams in U13 and U12 are required to supply their own umpire for their game. Tracy Scott, our Junior Club Captain, will assist in ensuring that each team has an umpire each week.
You can follow us on Facebook. Search for 'Technical Netball Club' and ask to join the group. Also keep an eye on our website www.technicalnetball.co.nz.
