Welcome to all new and returning players for the 2020 netball season. We are looking forward to finally making a start and getting competition started this week. You are encouraged to get out and support the Premier and Mens teams, and see some awe inspiring netball from your own Club members!!
2020 Competition Dates
There are different start dates to competition this year:
Premier Tuesdays 23 June to 11 September, plus finals. No Play 7 July.
Mens Titans Wednesdays 1 July to 2 September plus finals
Senior Reserve Saturdays 27 June to 5 September, plus finals
2nd Grade Saturdays 27 June to 29 August, plus finals
U19, U17, U15, U13 Saturdays 18 July to 19 September. No finals
Uniforms - If you are new to the Club you may not be aware that we require players to buy or hire their playing uniform (Technical shirt and skirt). The cost of a complete uniform is $95, although you can buy separately the shirt for $55 and the skirt for $40. We do not make any profit on uniforms as we sell them at cost to us. We encourage second hand uniforms to be made available for sale on our Facebook page. Uniforms can be hired for $40, we will advise when they are available. Jackets will be provided for junior teams and distributed by the coach. This year we will have hoodies for sale $60 and these can be ordered from your coach.
Entertainment Books for sale
We continue to raise funds by selling Entertainment Books, which this year, are only being offered in digital version. Because of this, your 12 months membership begins from the day of purchase. In previous years, all memberships ceased at 31 May each year. Also, new offers are continually being added, so even more opportunities to make savings. The Club receives $14 for every book sold. The current version covers Christchurch, Canterbury and Nelson, however you can order books for other regions, such as Dunedin. The link to the Technical Netball payment page is:
http://www.entbook.co.nz/13485g7
which is where you can order and pay online using credit card details. The books cost $70, plus a small credit card fee.
Fundraising Events. We have kept subscriptions to a minimum this year, and they are reduced as you will be getting less games. A Subscription Notice will be sent separately to each team, as there are various factors that determine the actual cost for each team. We are planning on holding a Quiz night in the near future. As well as raising funds for uniform and ball purchases, it is a wonderful chance to meet other club members.
Team Umpiring requirements
ALL players in Premier, Senior Reserve, Second Grade and U19 grades must sit the NNZ on line New Player/Umpire exam. When you have completed the test on line, you must print out the certificate and hand to the coach. If you don't hand in the certificate, then you are deemed to be unregistered and should not play. A team playing an unregistered player can have competition points deducted. The test is available online through the Christchurch Netball Centre website, look under Games Officials/Examinations. Do it now - it costs nothing but your time. You will also find information on improving your umpiring.
You can follow us on Facebook. Search for 'Technical Netball Club' and ask to join the group. Also keep an eye on our website www.technicalnetball.co.nz.
Happy NETBALLING in this most strange of season!!
