Just a short note to update you all. What a stunning start to the 2012 season! There are a number of special highlights worth mentioning:

The C team won their Senior Reserve section and have been promoted to Senior 2, where they will join our B team. Further recognition have come the way of a number of players selected for Canterbury teams - Chelsea Bremner (U17), Beth Williamson (U17), Madison Simons (U16), Madeline Walker (U15 invitational) and Ngarui Tautura (U19).

The O team won their section of CPIT U17. Two of our four U13 teams, the JC and JD teams also won their sections. A truly superb effort from our U12 teams - where we have six teams playing in 4 sections. We had 4 winners - the JH, JJ, JK and JL teams, plus a 2nd and 4th. Great effort from the coaches, and well done players. Coaches are reminded that we are happy to pay for them to attend courses. The Club is arranging for a couple of coaching sessions to which all coaches will be invited to learn tips and get some advice. Details will be sent to coaches.

We need your support to help get some funding through the ANZ Netball Grant scheme. Visit this page http://anznetball.co.nz/gransche/gallery-application/application.html?id=17490. All you have to do is register and you can vote once every day! Encourage family and friends to visit and like also. We have earmarked these funds for coaching development and have other funds available for equipment and gear that is required. However if you have an idea for something that you think would be useful for the Club to buy, then please let us know.

We are still selling Entertainment Books which become valid from 1 June. The Club receives $13 for every book sold.   The current version covers Canterbury  and a few other South Island places.  The link to the Technical Netball payment page is: www.entertainmentbook.co.nz/orderbooks/13485g7 which is where you can order and pay online using credit card details. The books cost $65 and we will deliver them to you. Alternatively you could put a cheques in the mail to our PO Box 29590, made payable to Technical Netball Club. Ensure you include the name of the Technical netball player you know, so that we can get the book to you. 

Do you want to make a bit of extra cash in the weekend? Please - we need a few more Club Umpires as replacements for injuries. We will be paying $10 per game and do need you to commit to the end of the season. Contact Elaine Higgs, preferably by text 021 410 824 in the first instance.
